Resize image
Set a width or a percentage. The height follows.
How to use it
- Add one JPEG, PNG or WebP. The current width and height appear once the browser has read them.
- Enter a new width in pixels, or a percentage. The height follows so the shape stays the same.
- Choose Resize image and download the new file.
Aspect ratio stays locked
You set the width or the percentage. The other side is worked out from the original shape, so a photo does not get stretched. There is no separate height box, because an unlocked height is how pictures get squashed.
Making a picture larger than the original does not invent detail. It only spreads the pixels you already have. The tool refuses a result over 40 million pixels.
Format and quality
The file stays in the same format. JPEG and WebP use the quality slider on the way out. PNG is written losslessly. To change format as well, use one of the converters, then resize.
Questions
Can I set the height instead?
Set the width that matches the height you want, using the original shape. A 1000×500 picture at width 500 becomes 500×250.
Will a smaller image always be a smaller file?
Usually, not always. A low-resolution PNG can still be larger than a compressed JPEG of the same picture. The page shows the measured size.
Is the original changed?
No. The download is a new file. The one you added stays on your device.
